Dr. prof. Slobodan Milosavljević, Serbian chemist, professor at the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Belgrade, is the member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. For the outstanding contribution to the science, he received the medal of the Serbian Chemical Society in 2007. Since 2012 he has been promoted to professor emeritus. He attended the North London Polytechnic, the University of London, and ETH, Zurich. The cooperation with a group of researchers from the Institute for Medicinal Plants Research „Dr. Josif Pančić“ started 1996 through the participation in pharmacognosy research conducted at different localities in Montenegro. His special contribution has been reflected in comprehensive chemical analysis of secondary metabolites isolated from various medicinal and endemic plants using sophisticated instrumental methods. His monumental scientific research, with popularization and emphasis of plant diversity, has been promoting the significance of multidisciplinary approach in investigation.
